At last, a victory

Ok, so I went to work this morning for 9:15, and as I was waiting at the door I was wondering how everyone had reacted to my giving the outline of the bylaw to my manager. Seriously, my stomach was a mess of butterflies. I went into the store, said hello to my coworker, and went into the staff room. There, on the door, was a very prominent "NO SMOKING" sign. I felt both relieved and anxious. I mean, now I wouldn't have to be careful of when I go in there, wouldn't have to make excuses to leave when they're both in there smoking. I won't have to look back if I'm ever diagnosed with lung cancer and think "why didn't I just stand up for myself and my rights?". But I'm still afraid of how the people who smoke are going to treat me. I saw one of them today buying something, she was nice enough, not as friendly as usual but I may have imagined that and she looked absolutely wiped too. So ok. But then next week I have to work with my manager for three of my four shifts. Ok, I know that she was the one who chose whether or not to do something about it, but it still worries me. Well, I guess if she does start to treat me like crap then I'll be looking for a new job. It just isn't worth it.
