I'm so exhausted...I hate missing stuff because of school, or work, or soccer, but I also hate missing those things because I want to go out. Makes me feel guilty.

Et bien.

Eventful day yesterday; I got into a car accident on my way to work with a 91 year old lady. Not fun. It wasn't my fault; she pulled out without looking and smacked into my car, but it was very stressful, let me tell you. Just what I needed, something else to worry about during exam time. So I ended up being late for work and have earned the (very flattering) nickname of "Crash the Jetta killer", courtesy of my dad of course ;0. I had to go to the police station after work to report it of course so I didn't get home until about 11:30 or so, but everything is taken care of (courtesy of my dad-there have to be some perks to having a cop for a father, even if it's just faster case processing) except for the repairs, which can't be done until mid-January. Well, I'm done procrastinating. Time to get back to studying, malheureusement, and then to work tomorrow for another 7 hours.

Goody.

Mm..so tired. Great weekend though. Met a lot of really nice (albeit random) people before Montréal (I met a group of really nice guys in the airport in Edmonton) and in Montréal. My hotel room was awful, and I think that I've been watching too much CSI cause when I got into the room I suddenly got all paranoid about things that I couldn't see (you know, blood stains, various little bugs) and ended up sleeping in my pyjama bottoms, socks and a hoodie to avoid contamination. But it was all good (well, except for my candidate not winning). Got a lot of swag and had a good time, apart from the registration hassle and the constant standing in line (i am now a pro). I love voting; it gives me such a high! Had a couple of heart-wrenching moments but I'm good. I actually saw two of my profs; one of them I didn't get a chance to talk to cause I was standing in line to vote (that's alright, he was working for Dion anyhow ;) just jokes of course) and the other one I talked to in the line to get bumped up to a delegate slot. It was pretty awesome.

I have my polish oral final tomorrow, so I'd better get to studying after slacking off for four days in a row. :D

I`ve been in a pensive mood of late, thinking about missed opportunities and different changes that have taken place since September. Surprinsingly, it's not so much the "what if's" that are swirling around in my head but more the "what now's". Talking to one of my co-workers, I know that it's time for a lot of changes in my life. It's hard though. He wants to go to the Royal Military College and major in military history, something that I know that I would love to do too. Something about being around him makes me want to be a better person, it's the strangest thing. Unfortunately we don't get to work together all that often, so I'm pretty much the same person that I was before I met him. And yet, maybe I'm a little more involved? I don't feel like I'm holding everybody at arms length anymore. I'm not sure if I would call that progress, but it's certainly something like it.

The delegate from my riding can't go and so I'M GOING TO MONTREAL!!Whee!!

dimanche, octobre 01, 2006

Wow, it's actually been awhile since I've posted in here. I'm sort of bummed today; delegate selection meeting was yesterday. In my riding,Volpe came in first, then Dion, then Rae, and then Ignatieff, so we only got one delegate in our riding and it's not me. Well, like my dad said, at least now I'll be about two thousand dollars richer. Still disappointed though. I ended up staying for about five hours after I voted, first to help in handing out ballots and checking membership lists, and then I stayed to help count the ballots, which was an interesting experience to say the least.

Everything else is pretty good; lotsa studying to do, soccer season starts soon and it looks like we're going to have a kick-ass team for indoor; I've been working tons but won't be soon cause we hired a bunch more part time people, which is sweet. The people that we hired are great too, which always helps, especially since I had to help train them. My classes are awesome, Polish is getting really interesting and having my granny help me three times a week is working out really well. Shocked the hell out of my dad when I understood some of what he was saying to my granny over the phone, which is always fun. I have a paper due on Wednesday, a Polish quiz tomorrow and midterms coming up pretty quickly here, so there's not much chance of me posting on a regular basis, especially since I leave the house at about 7:30 every morning and don't get home till eleven most nights. Yup.

Hope that everyone is doing fantabulously and hasn't caught the awful cold that's making its way around the U (I'm almost over my cold, actually missed a day of classes because of it. Not impressed). Happy (early) Thanksgiving everybody!

Yarrr.

Beartracks can kiss my ass. Yes.

My vocabulary is incredibly sophisticated.

mercredi, août 16, 2006

Hm. Starting to burn out. Thank God my exams are tomorrow and then I am done summer session.

Erin is home! Yay! She came home last week, good fun. My parents and my sister are in Penticton until early Tuesday morning,so good parentless fun is defs on the horizon. Brouhaha. I just spent over two hundred dollars on textbooks for two of my fall term classes, then got to take the bus home with a huge-ass dictionary. I must say, it was fun. Work is okay; apparently Billy is moving to Vancouver in October/December which is sad, so everyone is sort of nervous about who's going to buy the store from him. Eeps.

I'm so excited about fall session though! I'm starting my Polish course (hence the huge-ass dictionary) and I'm very excited about it. It looks crazy hard though. Starting to wonder what I've gotten myself into, but still excited! Have been drooling over a pair of boots for a couple of days, I think that I'm going to pick them up tonight before work. Hm. My life really isn't that boring, I just don't want to post everything online; you never know who's reading it with the judging!

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that they aren't out to get you!

That was random. Anyhow. Time to eat and contemplate my history final. And my poli sci final. Yes. Go Aristotle?

mardi, août 08, 2006

I. Am. So. Tired. Why the hell did I do summer term again? Oh yeah! I remember now! Because I suck. Yes'm. Indeed.

My sister comes home tomorrow! Last trip across the pond. Good fun. Her flight gets in about 8:30, but in Calgary, so my parents and sister get to drive down to Calgary to pick her up. Fun stuff. Lucky me, I'll be sweating it out in class again and then maybe I'll get to go home and sleep before I have to go to work, maybe even take a pound or two of tranquilizer? I hate being a girl sometimes.

Things are looking up. I'm actually looking forward to fall term, and I'm getting pretty good at the self-induced pep talks. Time to finish paper #2.

I am at a loss. I am totally shocked.
I don't know what to think.
It hurts to have someone want to cut you out of their life and to want you to respect that, but at the same time, you want to get over the hurt and wonder why, what event could possibly have brought on this decision. Why someone wants to erase you from their life. A million thoughts and possibilities whirring around.
I just feel sick.

dimanche, juillet 30, 2006

Hmm.

Point form? Sounds good to me. I seem to be extremely lacking in time lately...

+Summer school is going well, got an A- on my first history paper and a B on my poli sci midterm, working on my poli sci paper comparing fascism and nazism (it's more interesting than it sounds)

+Work has been good, working almost every day after school which totally wears me out, especially when I had soccer right after work (which I don't have anymore; we lost like three games in a row and ended up in third place, which means that we don't move up and we don't get to go to provincials either). Speaking of work, the main reason it has been good lately is because of our clearance guy, Craig. He's a great guy;really good looking, fun and nice to talk to. Yes, well, story of my life, someone outbid him on his route because he doesn't have enough seniority and we have a new clearance guy on Monday and Craig is going to be clearing out the WEM post office. Suckage. Plus he was gone for those three weeks because of his knee (he figures it's going to go out soon anyways) , so when he came back Monday we found out that he was outbid. I did get to hang out with him for awhile yesterday; I was eating supper in the food court cause the staff room is a pit, and he came over and sat with me on my half and we also talked while I was supposed to be working. Uncertainty is terrible though, what could have been and whatnot. Sad.

Funny story though; we're training one of the front store supervisors to work in the post office because we're so short staffed and for some reason he really wanted to work in the post office, so there were three of us working yesterday. So they're covering the tills and I was talking with Craig, and the owner walks by and says hi, gives me a funny look and walks away. Then later I was putting up talkers for the flyer and he comes over, puts his arm around my shoulders and gives me this knowing look and was all, oh, I always see you with that boy and you two always flirting, just going on and on in that vein. Then, of course, being me, I turned bright red and started stammering on about how it was his last day and this and that. Billy just laughed and left. I like having Billy as the owner, he actually takes an interest in his staffers and he actually does everything; covers the till sometimes, does stock as well as all of his owner duties.

Anyhow. I have to get up early tomorrow to (surpise surprise) work on my paper before I go to work. Hopefully I have some good dreams again tonight. G'night.

jeudi, juillet 06, 2006

I am actually in such a good mood. Terrible start to the day; second time THIS WEEK that i've slept in and gotten in to work late. Luckily Holly was very understanding, but I still feel like a prize idiot. Tomorrow will be better. I'm going to have to have about four alarms to get me outta bed on time, but it'll be okay. I'm so jazzed right now, just got back from soccer about an hour ago; third or second (?) game in a row where my coach hasn't subbed me because he said that I was 'playing too well'. I'm so jazzed about that! Especially since i wasn't playing great soccer at the start of the season, and a compliment from Dennis is like another coach hoisting you up on his shoulders and parading around the field singing 'For she's a jolly good fellow" or something like that. Sweet. Plus I ran into Craig today when I was heading out, he's the cool clearance guy that we had, hadn't seen him in awhile though so we all figured that he either quit or was redistributed, but he came in with this intense knee brace. Apparently he dislocated his knee playing hockey and lucky me, I got to hear the graphic retelling. Ew. He got lucky and didn't tear any ligaments or anything, but he still gets two more weeks of unpaid vacation, lucky guy. It was nice of him to pop over, so we chatted for a bit but I had to run because of the aforementioned game, so I cut through the post office door and ran into him again in the parking lot and chatted for about ten seconds and I had to take off. Definitely looking forward to seeing him back at work in two weeks. The relief ladies are nice, but they're a bit shy and don't hang around to chat.

My little sister was hired at the same Shoppers that I work at, cept she's going to be front cash, should be interesting. She's so psyched, which is awesome. The cash manager, James, who hired her, is actually an soccer ref and recognised her (and me) from having reffed some games. So he'll be really good about scheduling her aroud her games and such. I still think that she's crazy to want to work there, but to each their own I suppose. Well, I'm smelly and sweaty, so I suppose that I shall go and shower now. Intense family reunion thingy ma jig tomorrow that should be fun. Get to see my little baby cousin for the first time! Yay. Hope that everyone is enjoying their summer and no one else has to start summer school on Monday (sad face). Oh! And everyone should watch Pride and Prejudice, but the new one with Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfayden, because it's awesome, but if you disagree, then you can just watch Matthew Macfayden because he's INCREDIBLE as Mr. Darcy. I dare anyone to disagree after having watched that movie!! G'night!

samedi, juin 24, 2006

Hmm. I'm exhausted. Was supposed to go out with some peeps from work tonight but my allergies are deadly so I decided to stay home and sleep instead. Am working on that as I type. Too tired for full sentences. Poland is out. Sad. They did finally won a game AND they managed to score two goals too, all in the same game (last game, against Costa Rica)! I feel so sad now though, wearing all of my Polska stuff around when everyone knows that they're out. Ah well. Like one of the regulars told me, 'Wear it with pride anyways!' He's awesome. Used to play soccer. Sweetness.

Kind of a disappointing week; I have a feeling that it's going to be a long, dry summer. Kind of thought I had something going with the clearance guy at work, but apparently he's into some girl that he knows from high school or something, and she keeps toying with him, so he keeps bringing her up when we talk. Stabbity stab. I hate that. Why do guys flirt with girls when they have no intention of actually persuing said girl? Dumb and hurtful. I just spent almost 1 300$ on books and tuition for the two courses that I'm taking during the summer. Yet another dumb factor.

Time for sleep.

jeudi, juin 15, 2006

So I'm sitting in the staff room this afternoon on a break when my boss walks in, sits down at the table and asks me how much I make. I tell him, eight dollars an hour. He looks at me very seriously and says that he's giving me an 'agressive raise', because I have such good customer service and I work in two departments now, and I'm a good worker. I was all, sweet! Thanks! He said that he was going to tell me what my new wage was going to be tomorrow, but he stopped by the post office later and told me that I was getting a two dollar raise. Sweetness! So happy! And then the Oilers won! Happiness. (But Polska lost! 1-0! in extra time! against Germany! Incroyable! they're eliminated now...I guess I have to sort through my other ancestries and figure out who i'm cheering for now ;) ) Well, I am fricking exhausted and have to be at work for a quarter to eight (you'd think that they wouldn't schedule me to open after having closed the night before...). Luckily my dad said that I could use his car, so that buys me another fifteen minutes of sleep or so... go Oilers go!

mardi, juin 13, 2006

I am so addicted to buying things on e-bay lately. It's such a sickness. Stupid t on my keyboard doesn't work unless I pummel it. This may be a short post, depending on my level of frustration and the number of t's I need to use...

Good weekend, worked all of it and watched the Oilers win against Carolina, which was good, untill they fell flat on their faces tonight (but the owner wasn't there so we were able to listen to the game for once!). Went to a couple of the Ignatieff events yesterday and managed not to embarrass myself when I thanked him for being at the rally. Sat with a cool guy from McGill University and his dad, as well as an older couple who had driving for two hours to He did an amazing job and people seemed to be really impressed with him, the rally was a success to be sure. Got some coverage of it on the front page of the Journal, but I'm not quite sure about the tone. Sounds pretty neutral, talks a lot about his views on the mission in Afghanistan, but his reasoning is pretty powerful, so maybe it's positive? Who knows. I can never tell.

We also did a fundraiser thing at the Westin, and the president of the U of A was there! I was so flabbergasted! And Ignatieff remembered my name from the rally, which I was happy about. Thought it was so cool. I'm such a political nerd. I love it. Met a bunch of new people and did my networking bit at both events, met the new president of the LPCA (I hate it when I talk to guys and they talk to my chest..it's so obvious that that is what they're looking at, and it's creepy) and talked to the president of the campus club, who apparently wants to get me involved (for no other reason than that Dan Arnold has talked to him about me and they have a lack of members) and apparently he too finds Dan's support of Kennedy to be a bit over the top as far as the "subtle" e-mails and the like. Oh, the awkardness. Apparently he didn't know that I was supporting Ignatieff, so he and George Hodgson have been after me to commit to Kennedy's camp because I was between him and Dion about a month ago. I didn't actually realise that he didn't know until he asked me to come to the Kennedy organisational meeting tomorrow, so I had to be all, uh, well, funny story...

The World Cup soccer stuff has been a-mazing. The first goal that Italy scored against Ghana was fricking amazing. Off of a corner, out to the edge of the eighteen, just a rocket past probably five or six players and into the net. Beee-yootiful.I thought that it was hilarious that the US was beaten by the Czechs. But Poland is going to beat Germany on Wednesday! Mark my words!!! Time for bed; have to be at work tomorrow for a quarter to eight which means a bus at seven. Nighty night.

mardi, juin 06, 2006

Hmm...

+Saturday night was awesome! So much fun. So tired the next day, but it was so worth it. There was something really funny that happened that i was supposed to remember, but I don't actually remember what it was. It'll come to me, I'm sure!

+Started at quarter to eight today as a "fully trained" cashier; it actually went really well, I finally got the lotto machine figured out thanks to Holly. The lady that I was working with was really nice and helpful and told me some of the tricks of the trade. I only screwed up a couple of times, although one of those screw ups was because my training wasn't great because we're so short staffed....ironically, this is why I am now working in the front as well as the post office. When I left, there was one girl who had been fired for not showing up to her shifts, two other workers who had quit and one other one who was probably about to be fired because she didn't show up to her shift tonight. They were looking for a replacement while I was cashing out...be still! They won't see you! I love that I'm getting a ton of hours.

+Mel (our old nighttime clearance guy) came by to visit today because he's back with the old depot! He came by the front and asked me if I got demoted :P. He's the one who came to clear our outlet with Timmies for us. Such a nice guy, so I visited with him and the post office ladies on one of my fifteens. Good times.

+Practise tonight, it was okay for the first half but I sucked out loud for the last half. Don't really want to talk about that...

+Lotsa politics going down. Meetings all weekend, planning for a BBQ. And Oh my. One of the other directors who sort of took me under her wing is trying to set me up with her son, my youth co-chair that I have yet to meet. He's some basketball player at the U of A...at least I know that she thinks I'm worthy, cause the way that she goes on about that boy, you'd think that he was a god or something. I think that it's mostly because I'm a female Polish youth and she's Byelorussian and she thinks that the Slavs and especially women need to stick together.

+I'm going to shamelessly plug my candidate now: If anyone is interested in going to a Liberal rally for Michael Ignatieff, he's going to be in town this weekend and there's going to be an open invitation rally at Snow Valley Ski Club on Sunday, June 11th from 2:00pm-4:00pm. If you come, you may just see yours truly say thank you to Michael in front of everyone. *laughs nervously* They figured that it would be nice to have, what else, but a youth to do it. So yes. Come! You don't have to buy a membership or anything, it's just a chance to come out and see the possible future prime minister of Canada and to shake his hand. 'Course, if you want to buy a membership, you will not be denied! I love these kinds of events. We honestly have every spare minute of Sunday planned for him. It's going to be great.

+I'm exhausted, still not sleeping well, to the point where I went out and bought some sleeping pill type things to try and help me sleep through the night. We shall see what transpires. I'm driving the munchkin to school tomorrow so that I can go to get my dad's father's day present framed; it's this poem called High Flight that he really likes that I ordered from ebay, a bit disappointed with it because it's actually ripped on one side, but my mom figures if I get it matted it won't show. Erin is coming back on the ninth of August and I'm excited, although it's going to be a pretty short (and possible tense) visit. See, John put in dibs for her room, and she just found out that someone else is getting is and isn't too impressed about it. Ah well. She'll get over it. Excited for summer school (i'm such the loser) and I finally got my schedule for next year figured out. I hate beartracks.

tah.

jeudi, juin 01, 2006

Just got back from a soccer game and man am I pissed. I don't know if anyone has seen me play before, but when people start getting on my case and yelling at me it screws me up and pisses me off. If I had one player, it was the wrong one and I should move over to the next. Few minutes later, what the hell are you doing? Get on (number that I had previously). Fuck. Worry about your own check and let me worry about mine. When you have a perfect fucking game, then maybe I'll listen to what you have to say. For some reason I think that the coach might have a better grasp at what is going on in the game, so maybe we should all listen to him? Apparently not. Grr. Well, Dennis left me on the entire second half and all but three minutes of the first even though he had a sub for me, so maybe I did alright? My parents said that I had a great game, but they're the parents, but then again, my mom doesn't exactly give compliments lightly. I'm just so frustrated. I mean, I had my check,I worked my butt off, my man wasn't the one who scored, so what the hell? Grr. The one thing that I can't stand is that when I get super mad or frustrated I start to cry; thank goodness it didn't hit untill after the game but I think that a couple of the players might've seen when I was walking to my car. Now I prolly look like such a sissy pants.

Anyhow. Starting work in the front store, apparently someone told Chad(assistant manager type guy) that I wanted to work in the front store or that I was looking for more hours (I figure it was probably the owner) so yes. Sweet deal. I actually work a couple of daytime shifts and in the first two weeks of June I have about eighty hours instead of the forty or so I was getting (including time in the post office). Start training on Sunday evening, which I'm a bit nervous for, because I always feel slightly dumb when I don't know how to do something, although I know that I shouldn't, because I've never actually worked on that kind of a till before...ah well. I mean, they have tons of people working front store in these stores all over,so it has to get easier with time, right? Hmm..my nose is sunburned. I'm going to have a sweet-ass tan from this game, if nothing else.

I'm completely looking forward to the weekend; meetings on Saturday and Sunday, and then that shindig at Erika's on Saturday night, should be awesome fun! Oh. Man. I actually sold some Liberal party memberships....to my sister and my brother. Man! Sold a Liberal membership to the guy who's always complaining about the Liberals and the one who actually voted Conservative in the last election. Hilarious. Although I suspect that he's just trying to do me a favour and nothing more. Ah well. I'll takes what I can gets. I have to find a present the sister who's abroad this weekend too, cause it's the last weekend I have off for awhile. Hmm...I can't think of anything else worth mentioning...

Oh! Saw Peter Pan at the Citadel on Sunday night. It was pretty good, but not as great as I was expecting. He didn't do the classic Peter Pan hands on the hips move once in the entire show! The croc, on the other hand, definitely my fave character in all interpretations of Peter Pan, was awesome! Always makes me giggle.

Well, I think that I've calmed down enough to wash off all of this dirt and bug spray. I have mosquito bites like you wouldn't believe. Tah!

lundi, mai 29, 2006

Ahahahaha. I love politics!!

Anybody wanna buy a membership? *wink wink*

Com'on. Do it. You know you want it.

jeudi, mai 25, 2006

Just a quick update before I go to sleep...

Had a practise and a game cancelled this week because of the darned rain, and went shopping with my mom on Tuesday and got some new clothes, including a spiffing Beatles t-shirt. I think that I gained about five pounds during the weekend, eating almost every meal at my grandparents' because they don't think that my brother and I are capable of feeding ourselves when my parents are gone(they were in Kamloops for my sister's soccer tournament). It was good fun though; my granny dug through her collection of books and gave my a whole bunch more books about Poland and learning Polish, which was really very sweet of her. Oh, and I found out why Pope John Paul II kissed the ground of every country that he visited. It's because Poles believe that an earthly ruler who raises his hand against the independence of a free nation is violating God's law as just like a ruler who destroys an individual's rights and moral independence. Cool, non?

Worked all weekend and drove the standard all weekend, only stalled it once in traffic, twice on the driveway (don't ask). A lot of missing of people, family, people from high school. I keep having these awesome dreams, every night, which I'm trying really hard to ignore, but it's so hard, it just keeps popping into my head and I wish again and again that I could see into the future and see exactly what God has planned for us. Bunch of politicking going on, got a bunch more hours at work because my co-worker's mother came into town unexpectedly, plus I'm getting a lot more in the next few weeks as everyone takes their vacation time off. Going to see Peter Pan at the Citadel either tomorrow night or Saturday night, which I'm really looking forward to. Well, I'm exhausted, still not sleeping through the night but doing better than before and waking up happy, unfortunately because of aforementioned dreams. So, time for bed...

jeudi, mai 18, 2006

I can drive a standard! Yay!

mardi, mai 16, 2006

Just one full night of sleep. That's all that I want. I haven't slept through the night without waking up every half hour or hour in about a week.

Just one night? I'm desperate here.

dimanche, mai 14, 2006

*sigh*

I have this terrible feeling in my stomach, like a wild animal is burrowing itself into my gut. I think that I slept about three hours total last night. I don't know what's wrong with me. I can't remember the last time I felt like this. I can't remember the last time I cried, or the last time that I felt so unsure.

Well, these things do happen. Time to listen to my head again instead of my heart.

We shall see what transpires.

samedi, mai 13, 2006

I am such the terrific imbecile. Fuck. I mean, honestly, what was that picture in my head? What the hell was I thinking of? Happy endings, love, trust? Pure fuckwittage. I can't fucking believe that I swallowed that shit. It's like I want to end up hurt, to disprove some kind of point to myself. I wanted to prove them wrong, to show them that things could and would be different. Enough. I am through being treated like this. I have had enough now. No happy ending. I deserve much, much better than this. Than him. I have finally reached my breaking point. I never thought that this day would come. I thought that I would outlast anything. And yet, here it is.

I'm through with this, with him. Done. Do you hear me?

vendredi, mai 12, 2006

Not a totally productive week. Still only have one job and only have around twenty hours of work this week. Lots of politics stuff going on though, which has kept me pretty busy. We had a soccer game tonight that we unfortunately lost. It's so strange, it seems like whenever my team plays really crappy I play well. I mean, tonight I got a compliment from my coach. If any of you know Dennis, you know that it's hard to pull a compliment out of him. Well, I rarely get a compliment from him anyways. I have some sweet bumps and scraps on my legs, have this one that sketches me out. I thought that it was just a scratch from this other girl's cleats, but now there's this huge ass bump right underneath it and it's starting to bruise. Sketch me out. Sweet war wounds. This chick tried to bump me off the ball and ends up elbowing me really hard in the chest. Not cool. Still hurts like a mother.

I hate that some of the male refs don't think that women can play soccer. It totally sucks, cause then they either don't bother to pay any attention to the game or they call any kind of contact and make it impossible to play our game. I mean, what happened to gender equality? Oh my. The new cash manager at work apparently is a referee, and he figures he reffed our team once in indoor cause he remembered our 'strange name'. I really, really hope that he doesn't ref any of our outdoor games. That would just be awkward. Plus, with my luck, I would end up accidentally beaning him in the head and knocking him unconscious or something.

Enough about soccer. Tomorrow morning I have to go and find a mother's day gift and sign all of the other kids' names to it. My mom is so unmaterialistic, it makes it almost impossible to find a suitable gift for her. Time for bed.

dimanche, mai 07, 2006

I know, I know. Too many posts in too short an amount of time. I just have all of these weird thoughts swirling around in my head and I keep trying to shut off my brain. I keep having really weird dreams too. In most of these weird dreams, I'm at work. They're all strange like that, and most of the time the people who are there aren't people who actually work with me. Maybe I just need more sleep? And maybe to actually find a second job so that I can stop stressing out about it. That's probably more to the point. Haha, we finally rented Pride and Prejudice, the one that Colin Firth apparently became renowned for. Seriously, the funniest books ever are the Bridget Jones books. Ignore what you think about the movies, cause the books are supremely superior. And hilarious. And they keep mentioning Colin Firth diving into a lake with a white shirt in Pride and Prejudice.

Time for bed.

vendredi, mai 05, 2006

I just don't know. I've been thinking about finding a second job, but I really need to talk to the Boss to find out if I'm allowed to work for a competing drugstore. The key word here is 'thinking' about finding a second job. I've mulled over the possibility of working the night shift at Timmies, because it pays twelve dollars an hour, four more than I make at the post office, and because it would be convenient; last I heard the night shift was 11-7. Then I could sleep all day and then go to the post office at night and then to timmies. I should talk to my mom about this, she has this strange instinct about what is and isn't a good idea. If I can work at Rexall drugs, then I can pretty much working opening to about 4, because I seem to be working a lot of the evening shifts at my current job. But serieux, I'm only working twenty hours next week. Last summer I was working close to full time hours. This is terrible. Part of me wishes that Arlene were still de facto manager, because she had much more of an egalitarian outlook about scheduling people. She worked evenings and some weekend shifts, and everyone took turns with the crappy shifts. With the new manager, she and Arlene are scheduled during the day and the rest of us have to be happy with sharing the evening shifts and the weekend shifts, but I have to miss two shifts a week because of soccer, which isn't bad, but it does make me wish that the week were a few days longer. Speaking of which, we won our first game today (yesterday) 3-1. It was good fun. My toe is still aching from this girl who ground her heel into my foot (in cleats, no less) and it's all purple and funny looking. It'll be a good war wound for awhile. They hired some new people at work, some of them seem pretty promising. Hopefully no one else quits; last person who quit was our cash manager and now they're scrambling around trying to find a remplacement.

Oh! Important stuff; if anyone knows how to make an MSDOS program work on Windows XP, please give me a heads up! I've been trying to get Commander Keen (don't laugh! it's classic!) working for two days now and have had no luck with the tips from the site that i sharewared it from. So yes. Info!

Wow. Watching the budget presentation on CPAC. I just-i can't even believe it. All this stuff about "spending control" and "inneffectual programs"scares me and angers me to no end. Reading between the lines? Social program cuts and budget cuts. Even if it wasn't explicitely said, they're cutting about every single tax they can think of and okay, some of their subsidies are good ones, but overall, this made me realise the total difference between Liberals and Conservatives. Not to say that I wasn't aware of it before, this presentation has just made it more blatantly obvious to me. Wow. That's all I have to say about politics right now; can't take it anymore.

Not too much going on. Things have actually been really good for me as far as my personal life goes. Work has been okay, a lot of grumpy asstastic people lately because of the tax returns. I've been working almost every evening and every weekend that I don't have soccer stuff or Liberal stuff, but I found out that they can't give me any day time hours and I can't get full time hours either. So, lucky me, I get to go out and try to find another job that'll be flexible enough to work around my work schedule at Shoppers and my soccer stuff, not to mention my summer school schedule. Terrible. Last summer I got near full time hours, usually 37 or so hours a week. (Sit down, Flaherty! Turning a new leaf, indeed...) I'm hoping to get a job with the post office in Capilano mall, cause they've been hiring since about November and I'm all trained and that, the only thing is that it's in a Rexall drugstore and I'm not sure what the Shopper's Drug Mart policy is about working in a competing drugstore, or if Rexall will hire me even though I work at Shoppers. I'm going to have to talk to the Boss tomorrow, good fun.

Did I mention that I hate having a Conservative governement?

I am so sick. Like, honestly. My head feels like it's going to explode. Thank God my exams are over. I had two today and was supposed to go to a Kennedy youth meeting thing but I was feeling so crappy that I decided to skip it and come home, and my parents are like, you look terrible. Wow. So anyhow. My exams today were okay; my first one (histoire du monde depuis 1900) was harder than I expected but then my World War Two exam was much easier than I expected. Forty multiple choice and then a section where we had to pick ten terms out of fifteen to identify and describe it's significance in WWII. Stuff like 'apeasement', 'Pearl Harbor', 'Blitzkrieg'. Sweet. But yeah. Time for bed, maybe I can get my head to stop pounding before I go to work tomorrow. Baah. Loving the freedom!

There is nothing I like more (at the moment, anyhow) than just sitting and watching old war movies. I mean, right now, I can actually say that I'm studying for my World War II final, right? The older ones are actually supremely historically accurate. Sweet! Yah for Operation Market Garden, except not, because it was actually a terrible disaster. Didn't learn the lesson from Dieppe, eh boys? What an incredible failure. Sean Connery is in this one. So is Anthony Hopkins, but I don't see him anywhere...Anyhow. I went to a baby shower for one of my co-workers and it was super fun. The baby is soo cute, just seven weeks old and huge!Well, not huge, but long. Her parents are both over six feet, so that baby is going to be super tall as well. So adorable. Did the baking that I was supposed to do for the shower this morning, cause it was the only chance that I got to do it. Turned out alright though, everyone said that my cookies were good, which is always a good sign.

Not too much to say, been pretty busy with studying and such. Lots of stuff happening nonetheless. I worked the afternoon shift and it was super busy. One of my classmates came in and apparently he's going to be studying in Spain (!) next year! Sounds soo sweet. Helped out one of my coworkers who is in the same WWII history class as I am, which is always good fun.Tee hee, nudge nudge. Anyhow, I should really get to sleep. I have to get up early to drive my brother to work so that I can have the car for when I go to work. Bah, humbug. Ah well.

Oh yeah! I got my hair cut and it's prettyful. Well, I like it anyways. And I dyed it tonight too, it's super blond, not quite the colour that I wanted it to be but it makes my eyes look really green. Anyhow, I'll stop being so narcissistic and get to sleep. Hope that everyone is doing well with the studying for the finals; it'll all over soon! Going out for drinks on Wednesday night with the Kennedy group, should be good times. Going to try to convince Aaron to come; he's been wanting to get involved with the AYL. G'night!

lundi, avril 17, 2006

Hmm. A lot of randomness going down lately. But good news; I got pretty soccer cleats! Adidas, white with blue/grey stripes. They were only seventy dollars, which is always good in my books. Good Easter weekend, lots of working, a bit of studying. And, of course, the magical soccer cleats. Which, evidentally, will be tested out tomorrow night at soccer practise. Sounds sweet. Well, time to find something to eat before I have to drive to work. My parents took pity on me because of the crappy holiday bus schedule and let me have the car tonight for work. So I (naturally) have time to grab a timmies' coffee on the way oh! I finally won! Those stupid roll up the rim to win things, I finally won a free coffee! My dad keeps winning that on the coffees that he gets for free for being a cop and he keeps giving them to me, and I finally won one. Anyhow. I'm hungry, hope that everyone had a fantastic Easter and that everyone has a good go at their exams. Ta.

Grr. I'm in a bad mood. I was so happy this morning; got to wear capris, nice weather, got an A on my history paper. Sweetness. Stupid french. Grr. They have this thing for my course where we go to the computer lab and the monitrices from the CCOE (centre de communication orale et ecrite) come and correct these activities we do online; we have to do each activity a certain number of times without any mistakes. I guess I'm just really tired or something because for some reason my incompetence really frustrated me today. Grr. Days like this I don't want any human contact, and of course, days like this my entire freaking family is always home. Then tomorrow I have to talk about the LPCA convention in sc po because my prof saw me there. That'll be fun; I can put in a plug for Stephane Dion (I've decided to support his leadership attempt). Dion is sooo much better than Iggy! (just jokes; may the best man win!)

The day has to get better, right?

dimanche, avril 09, 2006

Whoa. Awesome weekend. LPCA conventions rule!!! Saw my poli sci teach yesterday at the tribut to old annie, which was supremely random because he unknowingly sat next to me, then talked with him tonight and apparently he wants to run for something eventually. Have to get up early to go and vote for George because he's special! I took a cab home because i couln'dt walk straight and I was going to take the bus but the pedways are closed! and then I took a cab, and then we were in my crescent and my dad pulls up in his cop car! it was so weird. and then the next door neighbours were having a thing and they saw me going through the side door in my suit and gave me a strange look cause they saw me talking to the cop and the guy said hello, which was weird because he's never said hello before. Lots of networking this weekend, Gerard Kennedy is bloddy fantastic. going to be an international country and we're going to abolish poverty!!!!!! Stephane dion is too shy to be leader. Michael Ignatieff won't admit to russian aristocracy and I was almost named women's commision vice president but I looked down when she was going to nominate me. Safe! I have to get up early. I'm not soused. I'm merely enjoyed a few drinks with some liberal and AYL people. It was actually sweet.Good times for all, no way am I going to be shy!! Time to sleep, but when I close my eyes the world spins. Maybe eating? Bye!!!

dimanche, avril 02, 2006

What the frick.

I've worked every day since Wednesday and was therefore absolutely bushed, so when I got home from work today I decided that I would take a nap before I started on my mother of a paper. Turned out to be a five fricking hour nap that i just woke up from an hour ago. Not great. Now i'm more awake than I've been in weeks, but i'm still yawning? Just realised that I actually have to drink twice as much coffee as I used to to get the same effect as it used to have. I hate daylight savings time-well, the 'spring ahead' part. Supid fascist institution makes me lose an hour of sleep and go to work super early. Bah.

Oh! I finally got to hold Jessica's baby! She's the cutest little thing; I want one! Haha, the look on my mom's face when I said that to her was priceless. But she's so adorable, she makes little cooing sounds and sticks her tongue out and smiles (it isn't just gas!). Tee hee. It's been super busy at work lately. I actually don't have much to say. Had super good rant session friday night/saturday morning and am feeling much better, much less emotional anyways. Figure it will all work out as far as guys go, do not need any nonsense...right? Time to get back to paper before it starts to feel neglected...

vendredi, mars 24, 2006

Hee hee hee; last post I mentioned that my french prof told me that I had done really well on the dictee. Apparently what he really meant what that I did the best in my class and I got a prize: 25$ worth of gift certificates for the Librairie Carrefour Bookstore, which is sweet, cause I was expecting to be presented with a Bescherelle. My mom thought that it was really neat that I won a prize, and I showed up that stupid smug girl in my class. Bwahaha. So evil.

Untill recently, I didn't really realise the panic that kind of encloses the Fac with regards to identity and language. They're really busting their asses to have these conferences with francophone keynotes and trying to interest the student body in these kinds of french activities. It all seems to be fear driven, and it's all somehow understandable from my point of view. They're all about identity and saving their culture. Maybe it's because all I've been reading about lately is Quebec and their identity in the constitution...

So the game plan for this weekend is to bury myself in constitutional affairs, legitimacy and legality of the 1982 repatriation of the constitution. This is fascinating stuff people! (I wish I were kidding- I sound like such a dork) Oh yeah, and that Liberal Party meeting that I went to last night was apparently a delegate selection meeting for the provincial AGM in April, and since I showed up, I ended up being signed up for the weekend. It actually sounds like it's going to be cool; all of the leadership hopefuls have confirmed their attendance except for Ken Dryden, and since it's the during the official launch of the leadership race it's going to be hugely televised and such. Plus the riding association is subsidizing 100$ of the 125$ fee for the youth, so the whole thing will only (theoretically) cost me twenty-five dollars. As one of my friends said, 'it's all grassroots and exciting.' Anyhow, time to get back to Quebec. Oh, que c'est du fun.

mardi, mars 21, 2006

I can always tell when I'm either stressed out about something; my appetite virtually disappears. Like now, I had one of those bar things for breakfast, a pizza thing for lunch and a bag of peas, which was like four hours ago, and I'm not the least bit hungry. My sister calls me a lightweight and can easily lift me, except when I get all kung fu and get her in a headlock. Which, by the way, is good fun.

I actually had a pretty great day today. I got my sciences po midterm back, and ended up with an A-, which apparently is sweet because this guy is a hard marker. My french teacher said that I did really well on my dictee (it was the 'semaine de la francophonie' so as one of the activities, they rounded up all of the first year french students and had us write a dictee), which was pretty swell because I haven't been doing too well on my french this year. It's actually the thing that most consistently hurts my marks on essays and exams. Oh yeah, and i had a ton of coffee today too, which always makes me happy. Lotsa 'Cookies by George' coffee, which, by the way, is super greatly strong. I'm on my way down from my caffeine high though, which is not great, but not altogether awful. Still a slight buzz. Hmm. Gilmore Girls in fifteen. Sweet.

samedi, mars 18, 2006

Too much schoolwork going down here. Too much snow falling. We had our first (and malheureusement last) playdown game yesterday against KC Polonia. It was only 4-3, and considering that they were a really good team and in third place overall in the division above us, we did well. But we could have won, had it not been for us losing four minutes of the game because they refused to move their injured player from the field. Yes, that sounds callous and mean. But she hurt her ankle. Had they been good sports, they could have carried her off after two minutes, and we would have had four minutes to score another goal. See, you can't call for a time out according to EDSA rules, and we don't get any injury time. We just lost out on those four minutes. Terrible. My coach said that we had a great game though, and I almost scored; the goalie just bumped it over. Baaah.

My mom woke me up this morning and told me that it had snowed; I asked how much, and when she answered 'about a foot' I asked her if she was shitting me. Baahh. My arm is sore from shoveling the driveway. My pants were soaked to the knee by the time I got to work (on the stupid ETS) and even though I hung them up to dry, by the time my shift was over they were still soaked. I didn't make it to Elena's birthday thing (if you're reading this, soo sorry) which I was looking forward to, cause I was afraid of getting stuck in the snow with the car, which apparently was not an unfounded fear; I passed about five cars stuck in the snow on the way to work and more on the way home. It was sow dead today; we didn't even do one thousand. Only good thing about ETS is that I saw this guy that used to work at Shoppers, that was neat. He quit in October or September, really nice guy.

I think that I'm falling for a guy at work. He's second year at the Fac and we're in the same history class on main campus. It's so weird, I'm such a freak. Seriously. Ahh, and he's working tomorrow morning too. I get butterflies when I see him. I wish that I didn't have such crappy self-esteem, otherwise I might do something about this.

Plenty of time to contemplate that tomorrow morning at work, cause I did almost all of my Sunday work this afternoon out of sheer boredom. Back to post-communist Russia. Stupid Putin.

mercredi, mars 15, 2006

I can always tell what kind of a mood I'm in by how tall I feel. Strange. Today I felt small and detached from everyone. Kind of floaty. Talked a bunch with people. J'ai raté mon examen de français. Then I talked to Sébastien and I was really distant, I think that he noticed and I feel bad cause I hate when I don't connect with people when I talk to them, I'll have to track him down tomorrow and explain. I didn't tell him about my exam cause I was feeling dumb. He's a good guy, I know that he'll understand. We always talk on MWF after I have french, cause my locker is right by his last class, and then we take the bus together from main campus on tuesdays and thursdays if I have to go to work after class. He started talking about exams and school and I went on this rant about how I'm worried about my french final and how my french prof takes off three points per mistake instead of one like other profs. It wasn't my finest moment to say the least. I'm really nervous about tonight. First playdown game for provincials. It's not the good nervous that I get before all of my other games, more like a sickly nervousness. We shall see what transpires.

dimanche, mars 12, 2006

Grr. I'm in a bad mood and I don't even know why. We played two exhibition games this weekend, just got back from the second. First was last night, against a premier classics team; didn't do too badly, 1-0 for them. We won the last one though, 4-2 or something like that, against a division 1 ladies team. It was good, beating Ricardo's team like that.

I still haven't gotten my essay back from my english prof. I bet she's googling my whole paper to see if she can find any of it on the internet. I really dislike her. I caught her using incorrect historical facts on Friday though, and zinged her. That was good. Cathartic. I'm looking at buying a car. I found a cool VW Golf that looks to me like a good deal (it's 1 900$), but it's only a year older than I am, and the same age as most of my friends (1987). I'll have to get my dad to take me around car shopping; he'll probably roll his eyes and tell me that I don't need a car, but whatever. I want a car. We'll see how this works out.

Four more papers left...

jeudi, mars 09, 2006

Hee hee hee! Regardez-moi ca! My essay for the Canadian War Museum is finally on the internet! I'm very excited!

lundi, mars 06, 2006

Bad day. Got to school on time, to my surprise, and my history paper was moved back a week, which is good, but then in English my prof asked if I could come and see her later to talk about my paper, which i did. She said that she 'just wanted to make sure' that the ideas in my essay were my own. I can't believe that I was accused of plagiarism. I honestly just want to curl up in a ball and cry. I've been wandering around here, holding back tears, for about an hour and debating whether or not I'm going to be okay to go to french. I don't think that I can handle it, but I've already missed two classes this term. Plus I have to work tonight, instead of going to an exhibition game. I'm so stressed out. Maybe I just need some sleep?

lundi, février 27, 2006

At school. Ok. So not a good start to the rest of the semester. First class was good, got my midterm back and did reasonably well. Then English, where we got our papers back. I didn't get mine back, so I asked about it-apparently she never received it. I handed it in at the office before the cutoff, and I saw the secretary lady stamp the time and date stuff on it. Freak out time. I've been panicking since my prof said that she never got it. This was one of our major papers. This is so not good. Horrible stomach turning sensation since then too.

TIme to fly away and study for french. Ben oui. Oh yeah, and provincials are in Calgary this year; we'll probably get to go cause we're still first in our division, we just have to play some teams from the division ahead of us to see if we get to go. Excited for the trip...

mardi, février 14, 2006

Very random day today. Good for the most part. Hmm..Actually, I think that it was all good. Surprising. Huh. I can't remember when I had a day that was pretty well all good. Had my poli sci midterm this morning that I really wasn't prepared enough for cause I had to work last night, but it turned out okay; the longer long answer question was all about analysing the campaign startegies of two of the federal political parties from last election. Sweet. Almost missed my bus to main campus, but ended up talking to that great guy from last semester's philosophy class and didn't make a fool of myself. Then I ran into Brian in HUB while I was going to get coffee before class. That was awesome and unexpected! I hope he didn't make a wrong turn and ended up being x-rayed on his way out...then back to the Fac, and since my class ended early (awesome class btw) I went to Idywylde and Capilano looking for books for my next research paper and then picked up the munchkin from school...hung around doing homework, then my dad took me driving to try and teach me to drive a standard before the weekend cause they're taking the automatic to Red Deer for a tournament. Well. It started out alright, but then, of course, with me being who I am, I started to overthink it. And then I stalled it (count it) four times trying to do the same turn. Wow. But then I made it home from the industrial area alright and only stalled it once. *mischievious grin* So maybe I can make it to work and back this weekend? Twice maybe? Anyhow, time to die trying to finish all of my schoolwork before reading week...and then I get to work. Every single day except Wednesday. So it's party time on Wednesday! Yaa!

samedi, février 11, 2006

At work today this guy told me that he hoped that I would fall down and break both of my legs. All because I wouldn't give him a parcel that he said belonged to one of his neighbours, having no proof that they actually sent him to collect it while they were on vacation. Please. People steal those delivery notices out of mailboxes all of the time. This is why we require id. So this jackass actually made me cry; I went to the back room for a few minutes and actually cried. But now, all I feel is pity for this poor asshole who either a)has make himself feel big by threatening and intimidating some random female postal worker or b) can't see far enough out of his own asshole to see that it isn't actually the end of the world if he doesn't get that parcel then;I did offer to help by keeping the parcel in the back room until the people get back. I hope it does get sent back. But seriously, that's two people in two days that either Arlene or I are going to get into trouble with Chad (the assistant manager) for having 'poor customer service' when it's the stupid customers that are being unreasonable and rude, and we have to just stand there and take it. I mean, I said "Sir, that was uncalled for." while he walked away and told me to bite him. Grrr. Now I'm mad. Time for bed.
Hmm..Watching the Portsmith/United game. Good times. Manchester is winning one nil. Ooh, foul. Anyhow. Strangely good week this week. Lol, had a convo with one of my friends about the tragedy that is Star Wars. Ran-dom-ness.

But OMG I went to the Great Big Sea concert on Tuesday, and I am going to marry Sean McCann. He did this little jig up on stage, so awesome. The best concert ever. It was at the Winspear (why? I don't know) and it took the crows a little while to get all warmed up to the point that they would dance with me, but after that it was amazing! They did two a-capella songs, "old Brown's Daughter" and "Rant and Roar", which was awesome cause only about half of the crowd knew the songs (I was so proud that I knew the words to every single song!) (wow! Amazing goal! From way the hell out in front of the box!)

Well, two papers due next week, a midterm on Tuesday and I'm working four days out of seven. But the government did just give me a thousand dollars for being me. Thank you, thank you. er, well, actually, everyone who is at the Fac pretty well got one. Well, time for work. (ahh! another goal! 3-0 manchester!)

dimanche, février 05, 2006

Awesome night last night. More fun than has been had in good, long times. Be safe guys, but eat the magic brownies where you can! And don't smuggle anything into the country, no matter how hot the pusher is!

Not a great day today; work was fine, it was just soccer that sucked. I know that I'm in trouble when my coach yells at me. He usually doesn't say too much to individuals, unless it was really good or really bad. I haven't been sleeping through the night lately either, which is always bad. i need to get it together, now, before i lose everything. Enough.

mardi, janvier 31, 2006

Okay. Talked to sexy guy from last semester's philosophy course. Why is it that when I talk to him my brain stops working?! I know that I can have a conversation in French with people, just appparently not him. Arg! I don't think that I made too much of a fool of myself-he got off the bus near 109th street cause that's where he lives...but what if that was an excuse to get away from my babbling self? *sigh* Well, maybe next time I see him around campus I'll be able to talk about more than just school and 'Ralph bucks'.

lundi, janvier 30, 2006

I love it when people give me 400$ just for living in Alberta and putting up with Ralph Klein.

samedi, janvier 28, 2006

I'm going to die in a hole, alone and unloved. I'm sick of emotional fuckwittage.

Maybe I should postpone those plans until after I get off of work. Nighttime is a better time to feel unloved anyhow. Yep. Good times, noodle salad. Time for work. Oh, and then, I get to come home and sit, alone, doing my schoolwork. Wow. Almost every night since school started, sitting at home alone either pathetically reading or watching TV on my own, mulling over my patheticness. Yep. Alone and unloved.

This was pointless. At least I don't have to take the bus to work today.

jeudi, janvier 26, 2006

Selling off Canada's history, one piece at a time...
Heh. My sister tried the magic brownies when she was in Amsterdam. She also saw the red light district and was scandalised. My goodness.

mardi, janvier 24, 2006

Alberta has been painted Tory blue. Martin is stepping down. Prime Minister Harper. The whole thing makes me feel sick to my stomach. But it could have been worse, right?

How? The Conservatives could have gotten a solid majority instead of the minority they received.

The definite high point of the day was when I cast my ballot. Greatest feeling ever. People made fun of me at work for being so excited, but that's okay. Things go on. Now, a leadership convention to look forward to...

dimanche, janvier 22, 2006

Tomorrow is election day. The day when everyone who is the age of the majority has the privilege (yes, privilege) of going to cast a ballot to decide the fate of the country. I don't care who you vote for, just vote-vote for the responsible government that Lafontaine and Baldwin fought for in 1848, help maintain our country and keep our international status as a peaceful and accepting nation, a safe place to live. A Korean lady told me yesterday, "Isn't this wonderful? Canada is such a wonderful country, a great country." Ok, she was saying this because I was polite to her and answered her questions (I was at work) but it's still true.

So go out and cast a ballot, a public display of affection for your country. Vote.

vendredi, janvier 20, 2006

Things are definetly starting to look up. Dreams are being ignored, plans are being made, and sleep is being had (mostly because i'm sick and I can't keep my eyes open to save my life). I had a really great talk with this random guy in the library at the Fac, in French of course, and I actually didn't stumble at all. Which is terrific, cause it means that my spoken french has improved a ton since I started at the Fac. Yay! No more linguistic anxiety for me(one of the few things that I learned from my linguistics course).

I know that I will find love-I've just been looking in the wrong places.

jeudi, janvier 19, 2006

*sigh*...I'm a fool. So what else is new?

mercredi, janvier 18, 2006

Terrible day today. Felt really down, something to do with being tired I'm sure, maybe something to do with the feeling of idiocy I got when I missed my bus, again, and missed my first class, again. That feeling was, of course, intensified in French when I got a quiz back, and since my prof takes off three points for every mistake (it's out of ten) I failed it. Wowsa. Then I got to go to work and have people bitch at me because the postage went up, because they want to buy a money order with a cheque (who uses cheques anymore anyways?) and I had to refuse because we had a fraudulant one for almost a thousand dollars that bounced in June, so we can't take cheques anymore. Apparently this woman is going to get me fired. Joy. I mean, I know that she can't because I was just following the rules, but it still pisses me off. Baad day. This nice guy tried to cheer me up though, that was a definite high point (some random bald guy showing me his ID to pick up a parcel said, "you look like you need a laugh" and showed me his DL pic and he had a huge beard and hair...awesomeness). I'm so confused. I just don't know.

lundi, janvier 16, 2006

I have been having some right strange dreams lately. Nothing bad (thank God- I don't think that I could handle those right now) but a little scary in that it makes me question things that have already happened. Makes me see things that I hadn't seen before. I just don't know if I should persue this. Maybe I should leave it alone. Why didn't I see this before? There were so many clues...

Oh yeah, and apparently I'm a fanatic. Hee hee hee.

dimanche, janvier 15, 2006

I've been so psyched all week for the first soccer game of the year, and the other team showed up with three players. Wow. So we got a 5-0 win because they had to forfeit and we ended up scrimmaging with the three of them and the refs. One of the referees was so good, amazing skills. Totally schooled everyone. High point of the day: my coach, who is pretty stingy with his praise, told me that I had a good game. Sweetness! Then he told me not to kick the ball so high so I hit him. So awesome. I guess when the pressure is off I can rock. Good to know...now I just have to figure out how to keep calm during the game.

That whole thing in Phil's LJ (I know, I know, it's been getting so much attention bud!) has really made me think. Interesting stuff. Well, i have a ton of reading to do...

I keep missing the bus to school lately. Seriously, three times out of five is terrible. So here I sit when I should be in my french history course. I mean, I know that she just reads off of her powerpoint presentations so reading them at home is almost as good, but I still hate that I'm missing a class. I mean, it's about thirteen dollars a class that I'm payin' here, I should be getting my money's worth. The stupid Carrefour doesn't have my poli sci text in, so I ordered it and ended up saving about thirty five dollars, including the shipping costs and everything. I feel so devious. My WWII course is going pretty well, a heavy duty paper to write for that one- it counts for as much as the final exam. Oh, wow. Oh yeah, and I saw M Gaudreault yesterday at Bonnie Doon when I was eating supper before going to work. Good times...I swear I must be growing or something with the amount of food that i've been consuming lately; I'm still losing weight and yet I keep on eating. That was random.

Hmm...lotsa work to do. Too many papers to write. Hope everyone is well. Hee, I'm wearing my Rain t-shirt. *grin*

Wow. Went to the most AMAZING concert last night. The group is called Rain, and they're a Beatles tribute band. Awesomeness. They did two of my favourite songs, and their voices were pretty much dead on. I got a t-shirt and a cd from the concert. Sweet. Unfortunately I had to miss the huge staff Christmas party, all of Shoppers Drug Mart was there and we were the host store. It was at Northlands and apparently our store won most of the prizes, and there was a hypnotist that was a riot. Hilarious stories this morning from everyone. But one of the pharmacists said that as good as the party was, he would've rather had gone to the concert, so it's all good. School tomorrow....

Well, here I sit at my desk after fruitlessly trying to get to bed early for the first time in months. Why the sudden attempt? Some kind creature decided that I needed to get sick right before school started and right before the concert on Saturday. Mean. It's a stupid chest cold, the kind where I lose my appetite and get all dizzy and apparently where I also am unable to sleep. And so I remain the leper that I am, social leper, political leper, whatever. Sometimes it's a little depressing to be me.

Ahaha. I have Timmy's and I got my english school books today...only four people ahead of me in line. I had a good talk with my mom in the car today, first to and then from Bonnie Doon. I'm feeling pretty good. I'm not going to lie to you, I was a little bit disappointed that the Carrefour doesn't have their books for the Campus yet; apparently they get them when classes start. Ah well.

Well, Erin left this morning; Kelsey and I went to the airport with my dad. Good fun. Well, not especially, it was actually a little sad, but it's all good. Doesn't look like she's going to stay over there another year, but she is planning to go to South Africa during the summer break with one of her teacher friends from the school in England. So yes. New Year's Eve was good, last time to hang out as a whole family, good fun at the grandparents'. Soo much food. Rawr, my stupid (relatively new) stereo is wigging out. Grr. Hope that the hangovers aren't too bad. Heh, one of the supervisors at my work was actually closing New Year's Eve and opening the next day (we're open 8-10 every day) and he was planning on going out and getting smashed. Wonder how that turned out....anyhow. Time to try and fix my stupid stereo...
